This Week on WXYC

Tonight on Monday's Inside Track, listen to and enjoy Zoo's Trilogi Peradaban (translation: Civilization Trilogy). This band's debut album is punk rock seasoned with traditional Indonesian music. From label Dual Plover: "With 22 tracks ranging from dissonant math-rock expelled in quick Melt Banana like successions to acoustic shamanistic vocal utterings produced with the Skeletal framed lineup of drums, bass and Jembe, all lined with the deft vocalisations of Rully Shabara Herman telling a story of the deterioration of cultural roots in modern civilization." Don't miss it! Monday, 9 pm.

Nancia O. hosts this week's Thursday Night Feature. Enjoy three hours of themed music! 9pm.

On Friday, the Inside Track continues its love letter to Indonesia with the airing of Koes Bersaudara 1967. This Sublime Frequencies release is a reissue of the band's two extremely hard to find releases from '67, The Guilties and Djadikan Aku Domba Mu. Western-style garage rock combines with dreamy psychedelia to make up an album listening experience that serious rock collectors have coveted for decades. Listen to it all in its entirety this Friday at 9pm.

Drags your ears on over to 89.3 fm Monday night to hear Fursaxa's release Mycorrhizae Realm in its entirety. Philadelphia's Tara Burke has released another great psych-folk album, her first recorded in a studio and not at home on four-track. It sounds like a dreeeaamm. It's the Inside Track, 9 pm.

It's music director capers galore on the New Music Show as Jonathan and Montgomery open the mail to discover new music wonders (and clunkers). Will Allison get that prom dress? Will Stefano come out of a coma? Tune in Wednesday night at 9pm to find out!

This week on the Thursday Night Feature, Frank J. will guide you on a three hour musical tour, focused on a central theme. (It's not Gilligan's Island themed or anything, y'all. Sorry for leading you on with that metaphor.) 9 pm.

Are you getting married but don't want the reception to be totally lame?
Friday's Inside Track has your wedding music covered! Hear and love Omar Souleyman's Jazeera Nights: Folk and Pop Sounds of Syria in its entirety. This Sublime Frequencies release showcases Syrian dance jams to get hitched to. Seriously, don't miss this. 9 pm.

On Sunday, Rick I. hosts political commentary with Chris B. in vintage XYC Reports style! 5 pm.
